Peace at Any Price is not the Answer

President Trump should consider this: if Russia attacked the U.S. in Alaska and then moved the conflict into Washington and Oregon and we fought them for three years and then the Chinese came to us and said: “Look this killing has got to stop so here’s a peace deal. All the Russians want is Alaska, you give them Alaska and they’ll stop fighting.” How would President Trump feel about that as a solution?

You cannot reward bad behavior on the part of Putin. It will only embolden him. History has taught us this lesson repeatedly but we refuse to learn it. Peace at any price is what the English and French bought in 1938 and that peace last precisely one year. It will be the same in Ukraine unless Putin is driven back across his borders to lick his wounds.
