Reaping What You’ve Sowed

Reading X and a bunch of other sites; watching cable news and CSPAN; listening to conversations in the gym; it’s all part of how I get my information these days. We are a divided country. In part this is due to a group of professional politicians who have thrived on divisiveness as a way of generating support for themselves. But it is also because we have people who have no true education; people who don’t know history, especially the history of this country. They have no idea of how unique the United States of America truly is or how we have weathered any number of crises and maintained our liberty.

Right now those who choose to divide do it through fear mongering. They cry that basic liberties are being destroyed although they themselves most recently tried to convince you that gender is fluid and you could be held civilly and criminally responsible if you didn’t use a chosen pronoun. They attempted to change the language and attacked their opponents personally in many cases with unfounded assertions depending upon the rapid flow of media events to cover themselves and not be held responsible for their libel and defamation.

Along with Captain Renault I’m shocked, shocked I tell you, to find out where taxpayer money has been going. One of the issues I need to know more about is the 40 Billion, that’s Billion with a capital B, that was placed in a private bank account. Questions abound, by whom, whose names are on the account, who can sign for the funds, was this misguided bureaucratism or criminal activity? Then there’s the FEMA expenditures on migrant expenses while telling the people in North Carolina and Tennessee there are no funds available.

Mostly, however, I’m appalled (disgusted, dismayed, horrified, and just downright angry) at the opposition to discover where money has gone and who authorized it. I would point out that these crying, yelling, singing, mudslinging individuals are representatives of those who sent them to Congress. Yes, that’s true. If your rep is reprehensible its because the majority of the people in your district must be too. If not why send such detestable people to represent you in Congress. You know the names, they play to the cameras every chance they get. Many of them have sucked at the government’s teat for decades.

Yep, that’s what I’m learning the most about and it’s a shame but apparently shame no longer is a motivating factor in the United States.
