I am always intrigued by those who preach the need for unity but insist that such unity must be upon their terms. In other words, “surrender yourselves to our cause, for only we know what is right and good.” And there are too many – far too many – who do just that.
So, a tax plan that will save me, on average, several thousand dollars a year is not to be passed because the Democratic senators think the rich will become richer if the plan is passed. So, to stop that from happening, they aren’t going to let the plan go through. Bully for them! By stopping the plan, they cost me thousands.
