So, a tax plan that will save me, on average, several thousand dollars a year is not to be passed because the Democratic senators think the rich will become richer if the plan is passed. So, to stop that from happening, they aren’t going to let the plan go through. Bully for them! By stopping the plan, they cost me thousands. How much will they cost you? All of this for them is simply a game of power – a game of Risk where we are the playing pieces. If they really cared about Americans writ large, they would applaud the effort to put more money in the pockets of the average American; but they don’t. Now is the time to ask: Where were you, Senator, when your party controlled the House, the Senate and the Presidency? Did you think of the middle class then? Did you even pass a budget? No, you did not.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m more than a little tired and frustrated with the games the senators (both parties, mind you) are playing. How I wish senators were like football coaches, as in “Good-bye” Butch Jones. I think six-year terms are too long a time to have to put up with these pompous, periphrastically, ponderously, pachyderm-like geriatrics. What do you think?
